API West Pilbara Iron Ore Project
PROJECT FEASIBILITY
Participated in the delivery of an options study project which developed and presented the results of economic modelling of different options available for the exploitation of ore resources. The different options varied by multiple factors including: value of infrastructure investment; physical location of port, rail and process infrastructure; total system capacity; mining plan; ore grade assumptions; commodity price assumptions; foreign exchange assumptions. The results were obtained through the development and use of various analytical tools driven by client supplied or third party data, and were compiled in presentations for audiences including management, joint venture partners, prospective service supply partners and potential project funders. The analysis and tools developed in this project are expected to continue to be utilised when the project moves from feasibility to execution.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE DESIGN
We were engaged to map proposed new processes which would support a new client management system. This required conducting interviews with people from throughout the organisation to capture their knowledge, which we translated into process map diagrams. While not a core deliverable, this work inevitably led to the identification of activities which were not generating value. Our work was used to both inform the final organisational design (including the allocation of activities to people) and stand as a definitive reference of approved processes.

National: Developed a document entitled 'Workforce Utilisation under the NDIS: Concepts and Management' together with a fresh iteration of the NDS Costing and Pricing Tool (augmented with demand and supply estimation functionality) and a dashboard reporting tool for self-directed teams. These materials focussed on the concepts of productivity and utilisation and how they impact on both workforce planning and the cost of service delivery.
REPORT PRODUCTION
WA: Developed a broad brush NDIS comparator report (quick snapshot/ready reckoner) that tracked the history of the pricing of disability supports pricing in WA including the previous Disability Services Commission reasonable cost model, WANDIS, the NDIA pricing framework and the recommendations of the McKinsey Report. The report demonstrated pricing anomalies and outlined major differences in the respective pricing frameworks and potential risks that might impact on delivering sustainable NDIS support services in WA, including regional and remote parts of WA.
